NHTrust Makes $5,000 Donation Pledge to Hundred Nights Shelter Capital Campaign

NHTrust has pledged $5,000 to support the Hundred Nights Shelter’s $5.5 million capital campaign over the next two years.

Hundred Nights is a year round shelter and resource center in Keene and has purchased property on Water Street to build a new facility to place their full shelter-bed capacity and supportive services under one roof (instead of the current two or three locations) and within walking distance of partner agencies. Their campaign is about serving the community to the best of their ability and offering safe, accessible, appropriate, and adequate emergency shelter, and having intentional spaces in which to deliver effective case management services and provide basic necessities that help clients regain stability and get back on their feet.

“To be as successful as we have been so far with this campaign and being at 86% of our goal is a testament to contributors like NHTrust who truly value their stewardship in their communities and support our role in trying to help some of the most vulnerable,” said Mindy Cambiar, Executive Director of Hundred Nights. “Experiencing homelessness isn’t always a choice and we are so excited about pulling together these resources to help and educate our residents and provide some the opportunity to find their own homes and reach even the most basic of dreams, warmth of home.”

“I am thrilled that NHTrust is able to help support this much needed service in the Keene area,” noted Mike Rafferty, Senior Vice President, Senior Trust Officer for NHTrust. “The resources this organization provides are much needed and assistance is given quickly and compassionately to people struggling with homelessness. It is an honor to be able to say that we helped, if only a little.”

Hundred Nights provides not only shelter but crisis related services to those at risk of or experiencing homelessness whether individuals or single mothers and children. As with all nonprofit organizations, their backbone are their volunteers and they could always use assistance. Contact them for more information if you are able to help.
